A Day In The Life Of Liv – Our Account Manager

Working in the event industry is truly my passion. No day is ever the same, and that has been proven now more than ever. After a long period of being on furlough, I was so excited and grateful to finally get back to do what I love the most! I missed interacting with clients and colleagues and it’s been a great few weeks back full time at The Collection.

Working from home, my day often starts with me rolling out of bed, getting ready for the morning, and sitting at my desk ready for a 9am start. I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but when I do drink it, you know I mean serious business! As there have been so many changes in our team, there are so many different jobs to do throughout the week. I have now taken more of a marketing role which is something I’m still getting used to, but also still doing what I love the most which is finding amazing venues and packages for our amazing client events. I was lucky enough to be signed up to an online marketing course which has taught me many different things in the marketing world. I join the lessons 2-3 times a week first thing in the morning, and then take online tests in order to gain my diploma. If I’m not taking part in my marketing class, I tend to always dedicate the first couple of hours in the day to our social media and plan out the week ahead.

Once the morning marketing sessions are done, I spend my time interacting with our old and new clients. We’ve had such an increase in event enquiries, it’s so great to get to talk to people and find out a bit more about what it is they are looking for. With the restrictions ending soon, it will be all systems go and I absolutely love being able to explore and propose all the amazing venues to our clients. Lunchtime is pretty much non existent for me. I’m either deep in emails or I’ve missed the deadline to eat. Having said that, I always find time for a snack (or 5!)

Last week, I got to pop into Central London to visit two beautiful venues. First stop was at The Dilly. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with the beautiful botanical views and welcoming concierge staff. It was great to see their refurbished spaces including The Terrace. Definitely a place I could see myself drinking cocktails in the sun. Next up we headed over to The Mayfair Townhouse. All I can say is, wow! Love this venue. They have great intimate spaces to host events and the paintings all around the hotel definitely adds character to the venue. In true event fashion, we finished the day with a lovely cocktail and nibbles with the lovely Valentine – The Sales Manager.

By the time my work day is heading to a close, I gear myself up (usually takes a hard talking to) and get ready to go to the gym. For me, fitness is a way to relax. I love putting in my AirPods and just working out. During the lockdown, I really struggled having a passion or motivation to do anything as the gyms were closed and going for walks just wasn’t the same. So even on my worst days, I will make sure I will get to the gym as I’m not taking it for granted! After all that I finally get something to eat, get back into my pyjamas and have a good binge on Netflix.

I’m so looking forward to the world going back to the way it used to be. I can’t wait to host our TLC event evenings with our fantastic clients, and definitely can’t wait for our Christmas Safari’s. But the thing I’m most looking forward to has got to be going on holiday! Sun, sea and a cocktail? Get me out of here now!
