German Gymnasium

German Gymnasium – another venue in the D&D family of restaurants and bars is located in the regenerated heart of King’s Cross, a stone’s throw from the station making this a very convenient and accessible area for many.

The venue was Britain’s first purpose built gym and was the indoor site for the first Olympic Games in London in 1866. Now part of the regeneration of the Kings Cross area the Grade II building has been restored and is one of our favourites!

The venue is home to a semi private dining room on the upper floor featuring an abundance of natural daylight and a bespoke table showcasing the venues original features. Accommodating up to 32 guests for a seated dinner or 50 guests for a standing reception this is a perfect space for an intimate event day or evening.

We love this venue because of the incredible interior and history of the space. There are various areas that are perfect for most styles of social events.
