Room Layouts & Capacities

The National Museum of Scotland; located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, offers a fantastic variety of events spaces and can host an array of events. From intimate meetings and drinks receptions, to impressive gala dinners and award ceremonies. All of the events spaces at the National Museum of Scotland are surrounded by rich, fascinating history, which will create an amazing experience for your guests. The National Museum of Scotland was built in 1861 and renovated in 2011, meaning the museum features traditional architecture, but also boast contemporary and modern interiors.

The Grand Gallery and Entrance Hall features a breath-taking glass atrium and a grand sweeping staircase, which creates a gorgeous backdrop for events. This space can host 1500 for a drinks reception or 900 for a seated dinner.

The National Museum of Scotland also features a fit for purpose 200 seat auditorium which features a full suite of audio visual equipment and the space also comes with the South Hall Gallery.

The Board and Bute Rooms are located at the top of the museum, and can be hired privately during the day. This space features its own roof top terrace with beautiful views over the City of Edinburgh and is perfect for Summer parties and private dining events.

The other spaces at the museum include the Hawthornden Court and Kingdom of the Scots, the Early People Gallery and the museum Galleries. Each of these spaces are completely different from one another so you have a real choice of versatile spaces.  The Collection team visited the National Museum of Scotland earlier in the year and it has been one of our favorites ever since!
