The Guildhall, Bath

The Guildhall stands prominently in the heart of the city near the Abbey, Roman Baths & Pump Room. An impressive setting for an event, this flexible venue works well for all occasions.

Since 1775, its Banqueting Room, one of the region’s most beautiful Georgian interiors, has hosted countless occasions, from conferences to awards dinners and parties,  beneath its Corinthian columns, magnificent chandeliers, and royal portraits.

Room Layouts & Capacities

Boasting the finest Georgian interiors in Bath, the Guildhall is a stunning backdrop for events, large or small. It has a grand Banqueting Room, as well as a series of smaller spaces suited for civil ceremonies or conference break out spaces, giving you true flexibility in this special venue.

The Banqueting Room, the largest room in the Guildhall, is decorated with intricate cornicing, glittering chandeliers, and royal portraits. It is a stately room and with the option to choose all your own suppliers, it is a surprisingly versatile venue for events. The Banqueting Room can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated dinner, although this number reduces should you wish to add a stage and space for a dance floor.

Adjoining this grand room is the Aix-en-Provence Room, an inviting smaller space perfectly suited to act as a bar or refreshments area or even as a conference break out space.

Although there is no accommodation on site, Bath offers various options to suit all styles, from luxurious hotels to charming guesthouses; your guests will find the perfect choice in this celebrated city.

The Guildhall allows flexibility in choosing your catering. The venue has a list of recommended caterers who are familiar with the Guildhall and its kitchen and have been endorsed by previous clients.

As part of Bath & North East Somerset Council, which declared a Climate Emergency in 2019, the organisation is proud to lead by example in reducing environmental impact and conserving natural resources.

Bath’s Historic Venues website is hosted using green energy, and a dedicated sustainability manager is leading work towards Green Tourism accreditation. All permanent staff have undertaken full-Carbon Literacy training.
