Success in the City at The Collection Events first ever Summer Seminar Series

The Collection Events love nothing more than sourcing the very best venues for our clients’ calendar of events, so we took to the City to share our expert venue knowledge and passion with our clients in our face to face Summer Seminar Series.


We hosted our very first Summer Seminar event at The Montcalm Royal London House on Wednesday 8th May 2019. The boutique event was attended by 55 corporate event booking clients, all looking to find out about the latest new London venue openings and ideas for their calendar of events for 2019 and beyond. The Collection Events team hosted 4 seminars covering a range of hot topics, if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry! We have included a small snippet from each seminar.

New London Venues 2019 – Hosted by our Director Ria Thomas. 

The Biltmore Mayfair London: is a brand new hotel opening this July on Grosvenor Square. The hotel has a large ballroom for up to 700 guests for a drinks reception and up to 300 guests for a dinner this Mayfair 5 star property is sure to be a huge success with our clients this year.

Blame Gloria:  She throws the best parties, we have been told! This is a brand new bar for Covent garden. The most instagrammable venue, full of fun with a brilliant collection of cocktails which would work well for drinks receptions and informal parties.

Private Dining Rooms for Winter Days and Summer Nights – hosted by Izzy Lambros our in-house expert on everything Private Dining!

Aqua Nueva: The beautiful private dining room at Aqua Nueva can accommodate up to 30 guests over two tables. This room comes complete with it’s own private terrace offering a perfect spot for those summer evenings with views of the London skyline.

Berry Bro’s & Rudd: The oldest Wine Merchant in England, Berry Bro’s & Rudd has four different private dining rooms. The largest room is in an old wine cellar with exposed feature brick work, accommodating up to 72 guests seated, making it perfect for larger parties.

Aviary: The roof terrace at the  Montcalm Royal London House Hotel, The Aviary Bar is run by ETM Group. This really works best for exclusive hires for up to 300 guests and has some of the best views of London from the Terrace! The glass box area within The Aviary can also be hired on a semi-private basis and is perfect for up to 50 guests.

The Silver Sturgeon: One of Millie‘s personal favourites for Summer parties is the Silver Sturgeon which is a fabulous boat located on Embankment Pier. This works perfectly parties up to 500 guests standing or up to 300 guests for a seated dinner. The upper deck of the boat has a stunning terrace, which works really well for Summer parties to enjoy the views as you sail along the river.

Galvin Hop: Over to the City now, the Michelin star Galvin Hop over in Spitalfields market has a fabulous restaurant with an outside terrace perfect for a summer parties for up to 200 guests, we love this hidden gem!

Millie is also our very own Mrs Claus and loves everything Christmas! She has selected two of  her favourite venues for Christmas 2019;

Finsbury Square: For larger parties, the marquee at Finsbury Square can accommodate 800 guests for a seated dinner or 1200 standing. A marquee for the Christmas period installed early November for the Christmas run, this year’s theme will transport your guests back in time for a Dickensian Christmas! The packages are great value as you get full entertainment and theming and unlimited drinks for the evening. The venue also runs a number of shared Christmas parties for smaller parties wanting to soak up the atmosphere.

The Botanist: Over to the City now for one of our favourite Bavarian Christmas themed venues, The Botanist in Broadgate Circus. This venue is perfect for a more casual Christmas affair. Guests can start the evening off outside on the Winter Terrace with beer benches and frosted Christmas trees. When the Winter night gets a little cold, head to the Soda Room which can accommodate up to 150 guests to party the night away!

Laura Dennett is our in-house team building and away day expert, Laura discussed 15 different options but here is an insight into some top picks for 2019 away-days;

Port Lympne: This venue is located next to the Aspinal Safari Park, offering an all in compassing South African safari in the heart of Kent. Guests can be a zoo keeper for the day or simply feed the animals their evening meal, or Segway around The Park, there really are so many different activities available here! This venue also has an array of different accommodation options sure to add something special for your event, from Tree-houses to Lion Lodges.

Lainston House: Part of the Exclusive Hotels group and one of our firm favourites, this hotel is located in Winchester. The hotel has its own onsite cookery school called Seasoned, which is great for those team building tasks such as Great British Bake Off!

Goodwood Estate: Set over 80 acres of South Downs countryside, Goodwood offers an array of different team building activities such as 4×4 off-road experiences, flying lessons, track days and clay pigeon shooting to name a few! The venue is also home to several different accommodation types including VIP retreat Hound Lodge (complete with Butler service!) Guests can also use choose to camp at Goodwood with several clamping options available. The main house consists of over 55 bedrooms great for larger event or exclusive conference take-overs.
